Jimmy Kimmel once saved the life of an A-list actor who was choking during a dinner party.

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host recalled in a new interview with Variety how he kept his friend Matt Damon from choking to death when the actor came over to his house for dinner one night, per People.

According to the late-night talk show host, Damon "came late, was very hungry, and started eating fast." This led to disaster when the Good Will Hunting actor "started choking on a pork rib" which got "stuck in his throat for about an hour and a half."

Despite their hilarious longstanding bit where they act like they are feuding, Kimmel wasted no time getting Damon the help he needed. Though in typical fashion, he poked fun at the scenario.

"I said, 'We have got to get him to the hospital,' because if he dies in my house, I'm going to prison for the rest of my life," he joked. "I will never be able to explain this as anything other than a murder."

After several unsuccessful attempts at the Heimlich maneuver as it was "too far down," Kimmel said he searched for help online and learned a tip that ultimately saved the day.

"We did a lot of YouTube-ing and finally concluded that eating little bits of bread was the way to get that rib to work its way down into his stomach — and bread saved him."

Kimmel also recently revealed the secret to his continued success decades into his career while speaking to Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast.
