The Shepherd’s House will be hosting the 18th Annual Run for Recovery 5K and 1-mile fun walk in at Keeneland.Race Course in Lexington, KY. Shepherd’s House is a 12 to 18 month transitional residential treatment program for men 18 years of age and older. It is a structured program that promotes personal responsibility and accountability for those seeking sustained abstinence from mood and mind-altering substances.
Way back in 2000, Leroy Sanborn persuaded Shepherd's House to produce the inaugural Run For Recovery. Leroy, a runner since the late 90's, two time Boston Marathon finisher, and a graduate of Shepherd's House, continues to give back to the Shepherd's House and the community with his support of this race.
The race attracts both serious and not so serious runners and walkers. The race has something for everyone. Family friendly, pet friendly, a great course and a great cause!
