There is now a wine for bacon. It is called BACON. The idea simply makes sense. Why should we have to spend so much time trying to find the right wine for our meatloaf, sushi, or chicken fajitas? Why not be able to amble down aisles with wines clearly labeled with ingredients they pair well with? Heck, we'd like to request a KALE to help wash down all the salads we're downing right now. While it might sound otherwise, BACON is not a gimmick. The wine is a Rhone-style blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre, Merlot, Petite Syrah from the California Central Coast crafted by @guarachiwinepartners and critically-acclaimed winemaker Joey Tensley of @tensleywines. Tensley's smoky, rich Santa Barbara Syrahs consistently net 90+ points on Wine Spectator. Here’s to hoping BACON is just the beginning of many more food wines to come.
Bacon has a red blend of California grapes, peppery spice, brambleberry jam and burnt caramel. People are saying it taste just like bacon. The wine cost $19.99 a bottle.
