Do you have room in your heart for a new, furry family member?
This Saturday, October 6th you can help thousands of dogs and cats in sixteen states find forever-homes. The Bissell Pet Foundation is hosting another "Empty The Shelters" day and will pay all adoption fees at over 60 shelters and rescue organizations.
More than a thousand cats and dogs are expected to be available for adoption on this day. If you adopt on this day, you'll only be responsible for the licensing fees.
Millions of pets are abandoned or released to shelters every year. In Michigan, approximately 40,000 pets are euthanized yearly because they were unable to find new homes.
Please note: some shelters require a pre-approved adoption application before the October 6th event so be sure to plan ahead so that each animal is matched with the right family.
