Shawn Mendes revealed an unreleased song when he took the stage at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday night (September 11). Fog surrounded the singer-songwriter throughout his soulful performance on stage at UBS Arena in New York City.
Mendes, 26, delivered the first-ever live performance of “Nobody Knows” from his upcoming album, which he announced last month. The 12-track record, titled Shawn, is slated to arrive on October 18. So far, Mendes has released “Why Why Why” and “Isn’t That Enough” from the upcoming project. Shawn is the “Stitches” artist’s fifth full-length studio album and his first to release in nearly four years, following Wonder in 2020. Mendes released “Nobody Knows” after his VMAs performance, and confirmed the video will premiere on Friday (September 13) at 12 p.m. ET.
Mendes was one of many artists to take the stage during the star-studded VMAs, which honors the most iconic videos in music throughout the year. Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, LL COOL J, host Megan Thee Stallion, Sabrina Carpenter, Fat Joe, Eminem and others also performed during the show, and artists were vying for coveted awards throughout the night.
