Shawn Mendes Reacts As First-Ever Stadium Show Sells Out In Minutes

Looks like the Mendes Army couldn't wait to get their paws on those tickets to Shawn Mendes' first stadium show.

It was only a few weeks ago that the "Mercy" singer-songwriter announced he'd be playing the biggest headlining gig of his career in his hometown of Toronto as part of his 2019 global trek — but those tickets are long gone now. Passes to Mendes' upcoming Rogers Centre concert (September 6, 2019), were sold out in a matter of minutes after they went on sale Saturday (December 15), according to Billboard.

Upon hearing the news of his now sold-out production, Mendes took to Twitter to express his gratitude, writing, "Seems like I wake up everyday living something I was dreaming about just a few years ago. I can’t even begin to describe how grateful I am for everything. This insane. Rogers Centre. Sold out. Thank you."

The artist will embark on his global "Shawn Mendes: The Tour" jaunt starting in March 2019 overseas in Amsterdam and will play his final show in New Zealand the following November. Mendes will support his Grammy-nominated self-titled third studio album over the course of the journey.

"This really was a dream come true to play the Rogers Centre in my hometown," the "In My Blood" crooner told Billboard of the upcoming performance. "And now to have sold it out is just incredible and something I could have only ever imagined."

Mendes recently played his last show for the 2018 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour in Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Florida this Sunday (December 16).
