Philip Seymour Hoffman's phone number was stored in three cell phones that were found in the building where police made four drug arrests related to the investigation into the actor's fatal overdose.
Three of those four arrested were charged with various drug offenses on Wednesday evening. They are:
57-year-old Robert Vineberg, a saxophonist also known as Robert Aaron who has played with David Bowie, Paul Simon, Wyclef Jean, Tom Jones and the late Amy Winehouse. He was charged with felony drug possession with the intent to sell.
Max Rosenblum and Juliana Luchiw, both 22-years-old, were charged with misdemeanor cocaine possession.
Prosecutors decided not to file charges against the fourth person arrested, 48-year-old Thomas Kushman, saying there was a lack of evidence.
Lawyers for the three people who were charged deny that their clients had any role in Hoffman's death.
Philip Seymour Hoffman's friend, David Bar Katz, has filed a $50 million lawsuit against the National Enquirer for claiming that he and the late actor were gay lovers.
The suit reads: "The story is a complete fabrication: There was no interview. Bar Katz and Hoffman were never lovers. Bar Katz did not see Hoffman freebasing cocaine the night before he died, or at any other time. Bar Katz never saw Hoffman use heroin or cocaine. The media coverage of Hoffman's death has been highly regrettable and insensitive to Hoffman's family and friends. But the generally unseemly coverage of Hoffman's death now seems restrained in light of this new outrage by the Enquirer."
Katz's lawyer, Judd Burstein, tells the Hollywood Reporter, "This article is just disgusting. Here you have Phil's family and his friends grieving, and the Enquirer comes along seeking to make a buck through putrid lies. Worse still, it appears that the Enquirer sent out a press release hyping the story so that it could sell more copies of the magazine. I do not know how these people can sleep at night."

George Clooney Is A Smart Man! A lot of us should probably do this!
George Clooney tells Variety that he has no plans to join Twitter. ''No, just because I like to have a drink at night. I could easily say something stupid, and I also don't think you need to be that available. I don't see Matt or Brad or myself wanting to get our thoughts out in a 140-character-thing at three in the morning. God forbid, you take a sleeping pill and wake up and the sentences don't even make sense. What a horrible idea.''
And If Anyone Else Did This, They Would Be Arrested!
Entertainmentwise and NBC News claim Justin Bieber and his father were abusive towards others on their Super Bowl flight to New York. A source tells the sites, “The captain of the flight stated that he warned the passengers, including Bieber, on several occasions to stop smoking marijuana. The captain also stated he needed to request that the passengers stop their harassing behavior toward the flight attendant and after several warnings asked the flight attendant to stay with him near the cockpit to avoid any further abuse. The flight attendant stated the passengers, including Bieber and his father, Jeremy Bieber were extremely abusive verbally and she would not work another flight with them.”
NBC also says the pilots were forced to wear their oxygen masks during the flight because of the weed smell. WHAT??? Am I missing something here???
